Sweet Things 4 Life
Sharing our journey toward a more natural, simple, healthful lifestyle.
Last week I told you about many of our health/beauty products that we’ve replaced with coconut oil based products. However, our switch to more natural, chemical-free products didn’t end there. I’ve also replaced nearly all of our cleaning products with natural alternatives that you probably have in your house right now. At first it seemed overwhelming to replace all the different cleaners with natural products, but looking back, it wasn’t that hard. I don’t want you to think we made all of these changes overnight. It took at least a year to switch all of our old products with DIY ones.
Many of our replacement products are used for more than one thing, so I didn’t replace every cleaning product, I usually replaced multiple products with a single new one. Here are some super simple ones to start:
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like all of a sudden the benefits of coconut oil are everywhere. It’s antibacterial, a moisturizing agent and you can even cook with it. However, my favorite way to use it is in our health/beauty supplies. Today I’m sharing our deodorant, body butter and toothpaste recipes!
I’m a clean freak. You might not always be able to tell by looking at my house, but I feel best when I know my home is clean, tidy and organized. Piles of clothes, random crap and unused items littering shelf space cause me anxiety. It’s not debilitating, but my life is happier when everything is clean and in its place. Now that you know how important cleanliness is to me, I want you to toss out all your commercial cleaning products. There’s a more natural way that will get your home just as clean, if not more so, and you don’t have to pollute it with chemical sprays and soaps.
